Refit time

The old girl is getting a much deserved refit. Out with the old 1978 Mercedes OM636 42HP, and in with a new Yanmar 4JH5E (53 mhp).  With it a new prop shaft, and prop.

After starting this the "too do" list kept growing. Here is the list of jobs so far.

  1. Old engine removed out through the Butterfly hatch.
  2. To do the above job much of the woodwork needed removal. This was done by Mali from yacht haven.
  3. New engine beds made.
  4. All sea cocks out, repaired or replaced.
  5. All hoses for water tanks replaced.
  6. Bilge painted with Bilgekote.
  7. Inside hull areas painted.
  8. Engine installed.
  9. Soundproofing.
  10. 2 new Stainless steel water tanks fitted
  11. Inbuilt rear bilge water tank, cleaned, epoxied, new top made and fibreglassed in
  12. Both diesel tanks removed, welds redone, some repairs made to weak areas, epoxy coated and re-fitted.
  13. Compression post drained, hole drilled at bottem, re-fibreglassed
  14. Electric system rewired.
  15. All woodwork refitted interior
  16. New teak fitted to cabin top
  17. decks and all wood above waterline sanded
So far there is still heaps to do.
