  1. Congrats on the refit she looks great. I am looking at put the same boat as you for 42k. I am bit concerned about the engine, water and fuel tanks. How expensive was it for you? How difficult or destructive was it? Any issue with the team deck? Did you know before buying the xomprecompr post was weakened? If you want you can get it touch with me at olivierica @ live.ca . Without spacing . Thanks and good job again

    1. The biggest problems with most of these Hans Christians is the ply core. Water gets in. If it isn't already wet and rotten its just a matter of time. Everything above the waterline is ply cored including the coachroof, cockpit footwell, decks, bulwarks, everything. I got new Water and Diesel tanks and they are a known problem. Compression post is an easy fix with mast removed.Like I said biggest job will be to dig out all the rotten core.

  2. Hello A bit late to reply. I suggest the Hans Christian Facebook groups as a great sourse of information.

  3. Hi Paul, are there more details about your refit published anywhere? Looks like it took 4 years, but I assume that it wasn't being worked on fulltime for that time. I'm looking for a boat at the moment so am very interested in possible refit locations and recommendable crafts people.

  4. My refit was done in Phuket Thailand (part-time). I lived in Hong Kong and paid a company to do refit.(would not do this again or use this company) Cheap for teak work, but very close monitoring of workers is required to get the job done right. The facebook groups for Hans Christians are the best source of information. If you are actually getting your refit done in Phuket I could give you some recommendations. If you are looking at Hans Christians in particular make sure you are aware of the ply core issues.
